March was a busy time for the Alumni department. Through a series of meticulously planned networking events, alumni were able to come together, meet U.S. university representatives, exchange ideas, and form lasting connections.
Fulbright Connect in Karachi
On March 4, the department hosted Fulbright Connect in the port city. Fulbright Connect is a professional networking platform that aims to link alumni from all Fulbright and Humphrey exchange programs, USEFP representatives, and members of the U.S. embassy and consulates across Pakistan. The session was attended by 65 people. Mr. Weldon Montgomery, chief of the political affairs unit at the United States Consulate General in Karachi, addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of U.S. – Pakistan educational ties.
Networking with MIT reps in Lahore
On March 6, Fulbright and Humphrey alumni assembled at the USEFP office in Lahore to meet representatives from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The visitors were in Lahore as part of a global entrepreneurship conference being hosted by the National Incubation Center at the Lahore University of Management Sciences to uplift the innovative entrepreneurship ecosystem in Pakistan. The group included investors, executive MBAs, and founders keen to explore opportunities in the country.
Meet-up with Harvard reps in Islamabad
On March 12, the Pakistan Caucus at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) met alumni for iftar in Islamabad. The caucus was hosting some foreign students currently enrolled at Harvard to give them an authentic glance into Pakistan’s culture, society, and political landscape. Our strong Fulbright and Humphrey alumni community came together to give the visitors a unique look into the lives and experiences of U.S. graduates working and thriving in Pakistan.
