USEFP announced two competitive non-degree programs this quarter: the 2027 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship and the 2027 Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is designed for mid-career Pakistani professionals with 8 to 18 years of relevant experience. It offers selected participants a 10-month opportunity to enhance their professional development and leadership skills through graduate-level academic coursework and engagement with a global network of experts and practitioners in the United States. Fellows are expected to share insights about their professional expertise, as well as life and culture in Pakistan, with their cohort and American counterparts.
Applications are invited across a range of fields, including AI and cyber-security policy, economic and market development, law and human rights, public health, national and regional security, and natural resource management. Prospective candidates must demonstrate strong leadership potential, a commitment to public service, and proficiency in English. A valid English language test score (Duolingo, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS) is required as part of the application. The deadline to apply is May 20, 2026.
Meanwhile, the FLTA program is designed for English language instructors at the college and university level, preferably those still early in their careers. Over a nine-month grant period, participants hone their English skills at a university in the United States, teach Urdu to American students, enroll in non-degree coursework, and build connections with their host communities. The call for applications closes on May 13, 2026.
Both programs are fully funded and require selected applicants to come back to Pakistan upon completion.
