This quarter, the Testing department duly accommodated an increase in registrations for important tests, such as the TOEFL iBT, as it continued to smoothly administer crucial examinations to students and professionals alike. Like the previous quarter, stringent Covid-19 protocols remained firmly in place: staff and test-takers were masked at all times, a six-foot distance was maintained between each person inside the exam labs, and hands and surfaces were consistently disinfected. These measures enabled the department to have a busy, productive quarter.

Influx of TOEFL iBT registrants accommodated
The department experienced a marked increase in requests for TOEFL iBT registration, primarily from Fulbright grantees. To accommodate them, the team added additional days. Last-minute requests, mostly from Karachi, were accommodated on a special date. As a result, 40 candidates from the Fulbright and Humphrey programs were able to sit for this exam in a timely manner.
GRE subject tests resumed
The GRE subject tests finally recommenced on October 23 after a two-year hiatus. These exams, usually taken by candidates who wish to pursue doctoral studies, are conducted annually in Pakistan for physics, psychology, chemistry, and mathematics.
SAT 2021 administration wraps up
The last SAT of the year was held on December 4. A total of 355 students registered for the exam, out of which 259 candidates were in Islamabad and Lahore. The next SAT will be conducted in March and the deadline to apply is February 11, 2022.
CFA exams conducted
A new, two-week testing window for the chartered financial analyst (CFA) exam began on November 15. A total of 63 candidates appeared across all three testing centers. The CFA is a three-part exam: Level I is conducted in the first week and Levels II and III are conducted in the second week. The next window will open in May 2022.
