During extensive country-wide outreach last quarter, our team underscored the importance of Peshawar as an educational hub in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by organizing a series of meticulously planned informational and networking events. Aspiring Fulbrighters and alumni were able to come together, meet USEFP staff, learn about programs, and form lasting connections.
A night of networking
On September 29, the Alumni department hosted Fulbright Connect at the Peshawar Barracks. Fulbright alumni and prominent vice chancellors from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Charsadda, Mardan, Abbottabad, Darra Adam Khel, and Mansehra, attended the dinner.
Fulbright Connect is USEFP’s professional networking platform connecting U.S. Government Exchange Alumni from the Fulbright and Humphrey programs, public and private sector vice chancellors, and senior leadership. Events under this banner are hosted in major cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Gilgit, Skardu, and Quetta.
Face-to-face interaction
Following Fulbright Connect, Team USEFP conducted Fulbright outreaches at Institute of Management Sciences, the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, and the University of Peshawar. These sessions were well attended by hundreds of undergraduates preparing to apply for the Fulbright scholarship. The political science department at the University of Peshawar includes four full-time faculty who are Fulbright PhD alumni, a proud honor for the Fulbright Program in Pakistan.
Team EducationUSA also held informational sessions in various high schools across the city, including Park-Turk Maarif Peshawar, Future World DHA Campus, Bloomfield Hall, The City School, Beaconhouse Frontier Campus, and Brightside High School.
