Fulbright Alums Take Charge of Prominent Universities

USEFP would like to congratulate two distinguished Fulbright alumni on their recent appointments as vice chancellors: Dr. Razia Sultana, now leading Women University Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, appointed as the new vice chancellor of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK).

Dr.-Razia-Sultana

Dr. Sultana brings a wealth of academic and administrative experience to her new role. She previously served as the vice chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Peshawar, the first public-sector university for women in KP. A dedicated advocate for women’s education, her leadership is informed by her international exposure through a postdoctoral fellowship at New York University, made possible by the Fulbright scholarship. Her work continues to exemplify the values of inclusive education and community impact fostered by the Fulbright network.

Dr.-Nasir-Jamal-Khattak

Dr. Khattak is a seasoned academic with over three decades of experience in teaching, research, and higher education leadership. His previous positions include serving as vice chancellor of Kohat University of Science and Technology and the University of Swabi, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Peshawar, and chair of its Department of English and Applied Linguistics. A former member of the USEFP Board, Dr. Khattak earned his PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst on a Fulbright scholarship and later returned to Massachusetts for postdoctoral work as an invited lecturer. His academic contributions and leadership continue to inspire excellence in Pakistan’s higher education landscape.

USEFP takes great pride in the accomplishments of alumni whose work and leadership continue to strengthen academic institutions across the country.
