Each year, EducationUSA inducts a new cohort for the Competitive College Club (CCC), a year-long group advising program for high achieving students entering their senior year. With a full schedule of exclusive sessions with experts and higher education representatives, one-on-one advising, test preparation, community service, and sheer group energy spurring them on, the program helps these talented students bolster their applications and come one step closer to fulfilling their dream of a U.S. education. This past year has been no exception – strong acceptances have flooded in for the 2023-2024 cohort, and we have no doubt that these young stars are well on their way to great things.
A community like no other
Nominated by their school counselors, CCC students are in the top 10% of their class, boast robust extracurricular portfolios, and list the United States as their top choice for undergraduate education. Over the year, they form strong, productive relationships with their EducationUSA advisers and each other.
“CCC truly paved the way for me to put my best foot forward in my college applications,” says Rayaan Mir, recipient of a full-ride scholarship to Oberlin College. “The group’s support was invaluable in showcasing my strengths and achievements.”
Aleena Rizwan, who was a part of Mir’s cohort in Lahore, agrees.
“I remember feeling very nervous about SAT transitioning to a digital format. Thankfully, we had a session with the College Board, where they explained everything in detail. After the session, I felt much more confident and could score 1560 – all thanks to support from CCC!” she says.
Personalized mentorship
Our experienced EducationUSA advisers make it a point to constantly be connected to CCC students – even if it means workshopping the same essay six times!
“Honestly, what I liked most about CCC was how friendly and easy to talk to my adviser was. She was available for me whenever I want to ask anything, and it helped knowing that I can talk to a professional with ease about any query I had,” notes Abdullah Kamal from Karachi.
Kashaf Batool in Islamabad concurs.
“The advisers were invaluable throughout my U.S. application process,” she says. “From essay guidance to visa assistance, the support of my advisor made my journey much easier. I am deeply grateful for their expertise and dedication.”
Exceptional results
This year, students secured not just acceptances, but also full scholarships from stellar institutions such as Dartmouth College, Stanford University, Northwestern University, Bryn Mawr College, Oberlin College, Carleton College, New York University (NYU), Florida International University, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Other acceptances rolled in from DePaul University, NYU Shanghai, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Drexel University, University of Michigan, Minerva University, Indiana University Bloomington, Knox College, Colby College, Boston University, Iowa State University, and many more.
Along with admission, students were also able to secure additional benefits, including complimentary first-year housing and placement in highly selective honors programs across multiple institutions in the United States.
“I would certainly recommend others to get in touch with EducationUSA. Not only are their services free of cost, but they are also directly affiliated with the U.S. Department of State. This means they have access to authentic, current information that can help during each step of the process,” says Muneeb Azhar from the Karachi cohort. “EducationUSA advisers had a significant impact on my college journey. Their guidance was instrumental in helping secure admission to my dream college.”
