USEFP marked a major milestone this winter with the inauguration of its new purpose-built headquarters in Islamabad – a space designed to bring learning, exchange, and innovation together under one roof.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad’s Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker and Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar, alongside senior U.S. and Pakistani officials, educators, alumni, and partners. The event underscored the depth of the U.S-Pakistan educational partnership.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ms. Baker emphasized the broader meaning of the new facility.
“This is more than a building,” she said. “It is a symbol of the deep commitment both the United States and Pakistan have to education, innovation, and building a safer, stronger, more prosperous future together.”
Beyond the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the building’s inauguration unfolded as a day-long celebration of ideas and possibility. Students, civil society representatives, alumni, community partners, digital influencers, and members of the media toured the premises, experiencing firsthand the spaces that will shape USEFP’s work in the years ahead.
A space that comes alive
The new building is a five-story, 9,755-square-meter facility that brings together all USEFP departments, EducationUSA advising services, a Lincoln Corner, and a range of training, convening, and public program spaces.
It also features a fully equipped auditorium for seminars and cultural events, as well as an outdoor amphitheater designed to host entrepreneurship fairs and panel discussions.
As USEFP and the Fulbright Program mark 75 years in Pakistan, the new headquarters stands as a tangible expression of that legacy – and a forward-looking investment in the students, educators, and changemakers who will shape the next chapter of U.S.–Pakistan ties.
