USEFP announced two competitive non-degree programs this quarter: the 2026 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship and the 2026 Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program.
The Humphrey Fellowship offers a 10- to 12-month opportunity for mid-career professionals to deepen their expertise through non-degree academic study and practical professional experience in the United States. Fellows are encouraged to engage with American professional peers and share insights about life and culture in Pakistan.
This year, applicants were required to provide proof of their English proficiency by submitting a Duolingo English Test score report, or a valid TOFEL iBT or IELTS score, with the application form. The deadline to apply was July 15.
The FLTA program is designed for English language instructors at the college and university level, preferably those still early in their careers. Over a nine-month grant period, participants hone their English skills at a university in the United States, teach Urdu or Pashto to American students, enroll in non-degree coursework, and build connections with their host communities. The call for applications closes on July 31.
Both programs are fully funded and require selected applicants to come back to Pakistan upon completion.
