In May, EducationUSA Pakistan’s first in-person ‘all advisers meeting’ of the year was held in Islamabad. Advisers from all three centers assembled at the USEFP office for three days of in-depth discussions about future programming, strategy, and group activities.
Some highlights included a collaborative discussion on best practices, solution-oriented presentations on center concerns such as the F-1 visa application process and the inclusion of community colleges in EducationUSA programming, and a fun group outing for ice cream in the scorching heat.
“It’s always great to discuss our ideas and concerns as a group,” said EducationUSA Assistant Manager Aman Bashir. “There’s so much conducive brainstorming and we all play off of each other’s energies.”
Regional Educational Advising Coordinator (REAC) visit
Karen Bauer, EducationUSA REAC for the Middle East and South & Central Asia, also attended the meeting. During her trip, she held one-on-one sessions with advisers, took part in the group discussions, met with U.S. embassy personnel, and toured the new USEFP building in the capital.
