This quarter, the USEFP team, assisted by EducationUSA advisers, initiated and implemented an extensive outreach program for the 2023 Fulbright Student competition. The multi-fold plan, which will pan out completely by May, includes 58 virtual sessions, various in-person visits to universities, and comprehensive social media marketing.
A digital world
Of the 58 virtual sessions hosted live on USEFP’s Facebook page, the 38 already conducted garnered a massive response. They enjoyed a staggering reach of 995,000 and easily crossed 430,000 views on social media. The remaining 20 sessions are expected to drill up even more interest as they are slated closer to the May 11 Fulbright deadline.
The webinars include Fulbright orientation and information sessions, Q&A hours, and workshops for the statement-of-purpose, GRE, and TOEFL.
University visits
The team also held in-person information sessions at universities in various cities. These included, but were not limited to, the following: the Lahore University of Management Sciences and Forman Christian College in Lahore; the National University of Sciences and Technology in Islamabad; Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Peshawar; Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and University of Balochistan in Quetta; the Institute of Business Management, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Syed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, and Bahria University of Medical and Dental College in Karachi.
This proactive outreach component gave students at these institutions a chance to talk to our team face-to-face, dispel common misperceptions about the Fulbright scholarship, and get excited about the competition.
