On January 24, a delegation from USEFP called upon Kinnaird College for Women Principal Dr. Iram Anjum and Vice Principal Dr. Ghazala Yaqub. This meeting was followed by a detailed information session for students about U.S. higher education opportunities.
Cultivating relationships
Kinnaird College has a rich and extensive history of supporting United States Government-funded exchange and education programs. Most recently, the institution served as a grant lead partner under the U.S.-Pakistan University Partnerships Grants Program administered by USEFP. Kinnaird is one of Pakistan’s leading and oldest institutions of higher education for women and has a student body of over 5,500.
The delegation was headed by USEFP Executive Director Rita Akhtar and included Program Director Saleem Razzaque, Alumni Affairs Director Mazhar Qayyum Awan, and Senior Program Officer Shahram Niazi.
The session, primarily conducted by Razzaque, was attended by over 250 undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members. It featured information on the application process for programs such as the Fulbright scholarship, other higher education opportunities in the United States, and an interactive Q&A session.
